Tomorrow’s Plan in TEDAICH

      From May, 2004, the Ministry of Civil Affairs has determined to implement within the next three years to “Disabled Orphans Surgical and Rehabilitation Plan for Tomorrow” (referred to as Tomorrow’s Plan) across all Social Welfare Institutes in China. TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital is one of the first hospitals to perform operation for these disabled orphans. In order to give a quick and best treatment, all the doctors and nurses work in close coordination and voluntarily devote their free time and donate blood actively. By 2007, “Tomorrow’s Plan” has become a long mechanism in the hospital, the best medical team and equipments were equipped for the radical treatment of CHD.

      In five years, TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital has performed cardiac operations for more than 2270 orphans who came from 23 provinces and autonomous regions. Among them the youngest child is only one-month, and the oldest is 18-year old. The Ministry of Civil Affairs conducts a serious investigation and sees these diseased children to the hospital many times. Meanwhile, the full confirmation from the Ministry of Civil Affairs gives more confidence to TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital develops and promotes the plan better and effectively. The Director of the hospital, Liu Xiaocheng himself led his medical team to Tibet plateau where has high morbidity and poor medical condition, and help local medical institutions to perform operation for the orphans with CHD.

      Furthermore, TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital cooperates with China Association of Social Workers, Beijing Huaxia Charitable Foundation, the Rotary Club, World Vision and some departments of civil affairs of local People’s Governments to carry out a serious of aid projects. By the first half of 2009, 3232 children with CHD have received treatment from TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital.
